Wai‘oli Mission House: Dining Room

Dining Room

The dining room.

"The dining room," Roger says, "the granddaughters used this room continuously up until 1968, until Ms. Mabel died in 1978 at the age of 96. They had informal Wai‘oli and nūhou board meetings there. put this all together. This is all their stuff: the sinners being left in the trees by Noah’s Ark. Adam and Eve leaving the garden of Eden. Hard boiled eggs underneath the chicken, fruit in the fruit bowl, candy in the candy dish. Each table got a little oil-and-vinegar cruet on it. The favorite day when all the family members gathered together was the day after Thanksgiving. At Grove Farm there was a big wood-burning oven so they cooked the turkey there, then they drove the bird out here."
